Nearly 100 years educating generations with values, excellence, and purpose
A Story that began with a dream
Our story begins with a profound conviction: to evangelize through education, forming children and young people with closeness, family spirit, and love for Jesus and Mary.
This dream began in France, when Saint Marcellin Champagnat founded the Marist Brothers in 1817, and arrived in Peru in 1909, giving rise to an educational mission that continues transforming lives today.
1927: The beginning of Champagnat in Lima
Colegio Champagnat opened its doors in Miraflores, led by Brothers Plácido Luis, Fausto, and Félix, who established from the very beginning an educational approach that was close, human-centered, and meaningful.
Since then, our mission has remained steadfast: to educate through evangelization, forming students with values, academic excellence, and social commitment.
Today, we continue to grow without losing our Marist essence: an education lived through presence, simplicity, family spirit, and service.
A community that evolves while remaining true to its values
The world changes, and education evolves with it. At Champagnat, we embrace innovation as part of our identity.
In 1996, we took a key step forward with coeducation, beginning our transformation into a coeducational school, alongside improvements in infrastructure, services, and our educational approach. Until then, our school operated across two campuses: San Isidro (1st to 4th grade) and Miraflores (5th grade onward).
This process reflected something that continues to define us today: growing without losing our essence.
A new chapter, the same educational calling
In 1997, we inaugurated our Primary School campus in Santiago de Surco and introduced Preschool Education, accompanying our students from their earliest years in a modern environment designed to enrich their learning experiences.
Over time, we strengthened our forward-looking educational proposal by integrating the International Baccalaureate Continuum (PYP, MYP, and DP), preparing students with a global perspective and a strong human-centered foundation.
Champagnat today: tradition that inspires, innovation that transforms
In 2005, we consolidated our campus with the opening of the Secondary School facilities, integrating spaces designed for holistic learning.
Today, we are a community that brings together tradition, innovation, and values-based education with one clear conviction: to educate with purpose in order to positively impact the world around us.
